MDH Fire Retardant

Utilizing the natural raw material brucite, we developed magnesium hydroxide superfine power and flame retardant series which enables the processing of magnesium hydroxide powder grain size be reached 3 um and less.
After surface modification, magnesium hydroxide can be applied to filler material for polymer material effective flame retardant that limit oxygen index, inhibit or reduce smoke emission and absorption of toxic or corrosive gas. The size distribution is uniform, tasteless, and for non-toxic white powder we provide different size, specific surface area and surface modification that can be made to have different characteristics.

Our products are made to provide the following advantages:
1) Non-halogenated, easy to disperse and good compatibility.
2) Exellent performance on physical properties and flame retardant.
3) The hardness is less than that of aluminum trihydrate, thus longer equipment life.
4) Product flow performance is good and high production efficiency
5) Good heat stability, decomposition temperature at 330 ℃, especially suitable for resin processed in relative high temperature.

Product usage
Magnesium hydroxide (brucite) is widely applied in different fields, such as steel slag, power plants flue gas desulfurization, magnesia fertilizer, waste water treatment and so on.
But the most important factor in the application of magnesium hydroxide flame retardant is that all polymer composition must comply with strict fire safety and smoke and poisonous gas release requirements. However, the use of natural brucite production of magnesium hydroxide flame retardant products meet all the requirements.

(1)Polyolefin compounds(HFFR)
Polyolefin compounds are gradually replaced by PVC compounds and has been widely used in smoke and gas emission demanding areas, especially in the underground pipeline, public places and insulated wire cable and so on. These materials are processing temperatures of up to 300 ℃, so that a lot of polyolefin productions are based on the magnesium hydroxide flame retardant agent to produce compact final product.

(2)Wire electric cable(PVC)
Wire and cable production must add flame retardant. It is the main material for polyvinyl chloride (PVC) that provides it with good flame-retardant, restrain smoke and poisonous gas adsorption characteristics.

(3)Crosslinked polyethylene(XLPE)
In many insulation and pipeline field, crosslinking polyethylene are considered to be a very good material. The kind of material in the process of high temperature makes the magnesium hydroxide flame retardant become the first choice, and does not affect cross joint process.

(4)Polypropylene(PP)
Due to the highly flammable nature, polypropylene formula must contain efficient flame retardant. As polypropylene processing temperature is usually more than 200 ℃, the magnesium hydroxide flame retardant is the best choice.

(5)Conveyor belt (Rubber)
Simple rubber is a very flammable substance, therefore all rubber product formula must contain flame retardant. For instance, some neoprene rubber, when burnt, will release a large amount of hydrogen chloride gas, thus the fire will become more dangerous.
Constant friction and drive in a narrow space (resulting in the smoke being more dangerous), this greatly limits the relevant polymer for flame retardant material choice. In fact, the conveyor belt material must be included in the magnesium hydroxide flame retardant.

(6)Silica gel
Silica gel is a highly inert material, when in contact with most other materials, chemical reaction does not occur. Therefore making the silica gel in many extreme environments, the best choice of elastic material. In a typical case, silica gel was used in packing, gaskets, flexible electronics and appliances with cable and other products. However, silica gel has flammable properties which require flame retardant ingredients to be added.

(7)Electrical parts (PA)
Most of the wire and cable insulation, switch, plug and socket must achieve the stringent fire safety standards. Polyamide has easy workability, good appearance, excellent electrical and physical properties, strong chemical resistance and thermal stability properties. These characteristics make it a very suitable material for producing high quality electrical components.

(8)Floorboard
The polyvinyl chloride (PVC) plastic material is not easy to burn, but when burnt the decomposition with poisonous hydrogen chloride and other acidic gas is emitted.
In order to prevent this case from happening, we must add flame retardant composition in the PVC floor material. In the application of PVC, magnesium hydroxide flame retardant can effectively reduce smoke and absorption of acidic gas.

(9)Wallboard
Wallboards have a vertical characteristic, it is easy to create vertical combustion and plus the matrix is polyethylene polymer. Therefore, there is more a need to adopt magnesium hydroxide flame retardant. By doing so, will achieve better efficiency and easier to process products. Also, requirements for no surface treatment of magnesium hydroxide flame retardant is low cost thus making it a good incentive.

(10)Stack desulfurization
Magnesium hydroxide as the flue gas desulfurization with the absorption of sulfur dioxide, bring forth magnesium sulfate. When it passes through the air, magnesium sulfate becomes soluble and creates more magnesium sulfate. Magnesium hydroxide for desulfurization agent has reactivity thus, desulfurization efficiency is high and the liquid gas ratio is relatively small which potentially allows low investment and low operation cost.
